Independent Facilitator for California's Self-Determination Program
Need Help?
The Self-Determination Program can offer meaningful flexibility, but understanding how it works isn’t always straightforward. I support individuals and families served by California Regional Centers as they explore and navigate the program at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
This work is centered on listening, clarity, and thoughtful planning.
Who This Service Is For
This service is for:
- Individuals with disabilities served by California Regional Centers
- Families supporting someone who is considering or already enrolled in the Self-Determination Program
- People who want guidance as they make decisions about their supports and services
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting.
What I Support
Many people find the Self-Determination Program challenging because:
- The process feels complex or unclear
- Planning meetings move quickly or feel overwhelming
- Goals don’t always translate easily into practical plans
- It can be hard to know what questions to ask
My role is to help slow the process down and support thoughtful decision-making that reflects what matters most to the individual.
How Independent Facilitation Works
The process is collaborative and flexible. Support often includes:
- Conversations focused on goals, priorities, and concerns
- Assistance with person-centered planning
- Help translating ideas into concrete steps
- Ongoing guidance as plans change or develop
Each situation is different, and the approach adjusts to your needs.
About My Approach
I bring both lived experience and professional facilitation to this work. I understand how systems can feel overwhelming and how important it is to feel heard and respected throughout the process.
My goal is to support clarity, confidence, and informed choice.
